  • unemployed woman 150x150 North Carolina Job ProjectionsThe state of North Carolina, like many others, is in a moderate economic downturn. Many of the jobs which were doing very well in the past are no longer so, but are functioning below capacity and are laying off workers in many areas. Those which are not laying off are cutting hours in order to keep employees working as long as possible. Which are the jobs that are operating at capacity, and are also hiring, rather than laying off? Are there any jobs that are moving ahead and expanding in these current times? Fortunately there are. In North Carolina, as in many other areas, and at a time that many people will find it odd, among the most flexible and up and coming jobs are thoseĀ  the banking and financial arena, which has had its own problems in recent months and years.

Not surprising are the positions that are opening up in the field of technology and IT. Network administrators and supervisors as well as systems adminstrators are jobs that seem to be plentiful across North Carolina, and indeed across the nation.

If you are seeking out a job which will in fact take you upward computers seem to be the right move in finding a new employment position.

Other jobs that are taking off in the state of North Carolina again, won’t suprise many of us, in that they are for the most part in the health care field. Some combine health care with computer skills in fact for health care administrators and computer related health care work.

Nursing particularly is in huge demand across the state and is projected to grow by about 25 percent over the next 5 years, while the demand for nurse at the current time is not able to be met by those who select nursing as their field. Medical technicians such as Xray technicians and nuclear medicine technicals are alsin in high demand, with the supply of those who are actively part of the current work force not meeting the demand from hospitals to fill the positions that they have open.

Security wise, it seems that medical professions are the right move if yo’ure looking for a job that will be more stable and keep you working far longer.
